Privacy Policy

This policy explains how BookGhost Publishing ("we", "us") handles personal information. BookGhost Publishing was founded by Aarush Sharma (Founder & AI Workflow Lead), who developed its business idea, website and book-creation workflow. Customer agreements, payments and refunds are the responsibility of Sudhir Sharma, an adult and the Razorpay merchant for BookGhost Publishing.
Information we collect
Book enquiry form: name, email and/or WhatsApp number (at least one is required), book type, book language, package of interest (optional), a description of your book, and the time you agreed to be contacted.
Contact form: name, email, optional Order ID, optional phone/WhatsApp number and your message.
Projects and orders: details needed to create your book (such as your ideas, notes and feedback), order and approval records, and payment references and statuses from our payment provider.
Spam protection: a one-way hashed value derived from your IP address is kept for about two hours to limit repeated form submissions.
How we use it
To reply to your enquiry, prepare a proposal, create and deliver your book, process payments and refunds, and meet legal obligations. Agreeing to be contacted about your enquiry is not consent to marketing; we send marketing only with separate consent.
Service providers
- Manuscript drafting and AI-assisted editing: project content is processed with GPT/ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic).
- Cover artwork: cover-related briefs are processed with Gemini (Google).
- Project working files: stored in Google Drive. The website itself is not connected to Google Drive.
- Website and database: form submissions and order records are stored in the website's database on our hosting provider.
- Payments: Razorpay processes payments.
- Email: transactional emails are sent through our email delivery provider.
- Analytics: the website loads an analytics script that records page visits and usage and may use cookies or similar browser storage. Any additional tracking configured outside the website code (for example an advertising pixel) is not confirmed here.
Each provider handles data under its own terms and policies. We do not sell your data.
Payment and KDP data
We do not ask for card numbers, bank details, PAN/tax details or KDP passwords. Card and bank details are entered with Razorpay, not on our website.
Security and retention
Access to project data is limited to people working on your project. We keep records for as long as needed to provide the service, handle queries and refunds, and meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete project material we hold once your project is complete, unless we need to keep it by law.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent to optional uses, by emailing bookghost.support@gmail.com. On request we will also try to help by sending you a copy of your project files. Your rights under applicable Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, apply as those provisions take effect. We aim to reply within one business day.
